Wellness Warriors

Does the thought of exercising fill you with feelings of “uggghhhhhh” and images of a days old lettuce salad...

Have you been looking to try different things but don’t want to make the commitment to a full term until you know you like it? Are you looking to meet other people who want to have a laugh and not take things too seriously? That is our aim at Wellness Warriors! To get women out and about, meeting new people and having a laugh. 

As we like to say," Exercise should be fun. If it's not fun, you're not doing the right exercise for you" 

Just to give you a little taster of what's to come in Term 4 we have, Fire Fans, Stand up Paddle Board Yoga, Silks, Bungee Aerobics and more to come! 

WHEN: Thursdays 10.00am – 12.00pm in school terms

Circle of Security Parenting

“I have no idea what I’m doing, who thought it was a good idea for me to be left me in charge of this child?” Every parent on the planet has thought this to themselves. So what is the answer? We are here to help. The Circle of Security Parenting program is a practical, solution based course that teaches parents, caregivers, teachers, really just anyone involved with children, how to help kids figure out their emotions and create a calmer environment. If you are looking for your household to be happier, kids to be more content and for your sanity levels to increase, this course could be a good one for you.

The Thursday evening program is facilitated by a male therapist with extensive local and national experience in parenting and Father inclusive practice.

The Happiness Project

The Happiness Project is based on the book of the same name, by Gretchen Rubin. Using the principles of the book based on current research, pop culture notions of happiness and age-old wisdom, this group will help you find joy and gratitude in everyday life. Gaining greater knowledge about yourself, the happiness project puts you in the drivers seat of your own life.

WHEN: Wednesdays 9.30am - 11.30am

Self Care

Self-Care. The term is everywhere nowadays. Buy this massage! Get your nails done! Etc etc etc. Even though these are amazing options, they aren’t the only options available to you. Join us for this special Women's Health Week event so you can find out how easy it is to make time for your own self care. You will create your own plan to ensure that you can follow through, so you have more energy to do what you love and live a happier life!

Healthy Relationships

Communication – It’s a fun little topic isn’t it? So easy to do and because all humans have the same personality, we never run in to trouble dealing with different styles of communicating. Oh wait… Its actually the opposite of that. Do you feel like you are speaking another language because others just don't seem to listen to you? This talk explores the meanings of Passive, Aggressive and Assertive styles of communication. Find out how you can speak clearly and calmly to improve your relationships.

Talking to your kids about sex

Does the idea of talking to your kids (both young and teens) freak you out? Do you want to make sure your kids are getting the right information about sex and relationships but don't know where to start? This hands-on talk provides information and tools about broaching this important but often ignored topic. Gain confidence in opening up conversations about sex with your children, so that you are both comfortable in keeping the conversation going.

The Five Love Languages

Game Changer! “Understanding Love Languages helped me make instant, positive changes in my relationship” Love is what makes the world go round, so why is it so complex and confusing? We all experience love in different ways. Understanding that there are Five Love Languages, as outlined in Dr Gary Chapman's book by the same title, will help you to give and receive love in more meaningful ways. This can enhance communication, reduce conflict and bring more joy into your relationship with your partner or your children.

Managing Postnatal Depression & Anxiety

There can be many unexpected hurdles on the journey of parenthood, and one of them can be postnatal depression and/or anxiety. Depression and anxiety after birth can affect anyone, regardless of whether it's your 1st baby or not. Postnatal depression and anxiety can be distressing, and can stop you from enjoying and bonding with your baby. You are definitely not alone in this experience. This talk will provide information on what postnatal depression and anxiety are, and what you or your partner can do to move beyond this experience.
